Marchese di Borgosole, Salice Salentino Riserva 2020

Legend has it that the original Marchese di Borgosole fled Sicily after its fall to Garibaldi during the unification of Italy in the 19th Century. Helped and assisted by the local people in Puglia who hid him from the authorities, the Marchese di Borgosole established a vineyard in their honour. Salice Salentino Riserva 2020 is made from 100% Negroamaro. Aged for 2 years in barrel, it is a full, robust and velvety red. Flavours of plum, cherry and blackberry mingle with more savoury flavours of oak, chocolate and leather. A great wine to pair with cheeses or with hearty dishes.
